Doctors

Dr Jon Clegg. Married with 5 children. Lived in St Albans since 1980. Trained at Middlesex Hospital, employed as a Houseman at St Albans City Hospital and undertook vocational training at Hemel Hempstead Hospital. After travelling for a year and working in Australia became a partner at the Practice. Main interests in education as a trainer for 12 years. Formerly a member of the Professional Executive Committee of the PCT.  Continues to provide a minor surgery session at Jersey Farm Surgery.


Dr Ian Hamilton. Qualified 1988 from The Royal London Hospital. Completed GP training in 1993. Spent one year working in New Zealand, and then completed Msc Sports Medicine in 1995.Took 6 month Sports Medicine Sabbatical to Adelaide in 2002. Currently Medical Officer for Watford FC. Past appointments with the LTA Academy, and The English Badminton Team. A GP Trainer. Sees patients privately at The Hertfordshire Clinic. Still playing rugby, tennis and golf. Married with two boys 

Dr Matt Parfitt. Originally from Kent, he trained at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in London. Qualified in 1996 and worked at Hemel Hempstead Hospital and QEII Hospital Welwyn Garden City, followed by a medical rotation at King’s College London. He moved to St Albans in 2001. His clinical interests are neurology and diabetes. He is a tutor for Final Year Medical Students from UCH Medical School. His hobbies include golf, cycling, and running.

Dr Sonia Elstow. Qualified at Manchester University in 1981. Prior to joining Harvey Group Practice worked in the community in child health, an area in which she still has a special interest. Enjoys all aspects of general practice particularly women’s health. Worked full time until starting a family and now works 2 days a week.

Dr Mike Walton. Trained in Birmingham, and undertook GP training in North London. Spent time working as a Lecturer in General Practice in London University, and also time overseas in New Zealand working in Psychiatry. Joined the Practice in 1999. Lives in St Albans. Married with 2 children. A GP Trainer.

Dr Jenny Parry. GP who works three surgeries per week at Harvey Group Practice. Lives in St Albans.

Dr Palmyra De Banks
Originally from Radlett. Studied at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine. Qualified in 1999.  Then went on to spend 3 years surgical specialist training in the Midlands before returning to Hertfordshire. Completed a General Practice training scheme at Hemel Hempstead and Watford before completing her training in St Albans. Became a partner at Harvey Group in 2006. Married and living in St Albans.

Dr Wendy Molefi-Youri
Originally from Botswana. Qualified from Southampton University in 1997. Spent two years working in hospitals in Botswana. Returned to the UK and joined the Hemel Hempstead and St Albans GP Training scheme, completing in 2005. Special interest in women’s health and family planning. Joined the practice as a partner working three days a week in 2006. Married with two children.
